Frontier Forestry Innovations
A Gift For You & For Nature
Guests have an opportunity to plant a special tree and name it, as a way for every one of us to give back to nature. This will be your tree.
It is part of Frontier’s 10,000 tree-planting initiative across the Scottish Highlands. Replacement trees in Dalbuaick Forest, including your tree, will contribute towards a multi-age multi-species future. Planting new trees creates new sources of food and shelter for new insects, new birds, and mammals.
Over the next few years, a man-made plantation will become a more diverse eco-system. You can be a fundamental part of this, as an active participant in reforestation. Through hands-on experience, you have an opportunity to be a long-term stakeholder in this forest, helping wildlife to thrive for another generation.
Investing In A Healthier Forest
Forestry in the UK has become an industrial process of mass-scale mono-crop extraction. Frontier has invested in a forest at a point where it is ripe for improvement and diversification. As the trees reach maturity, management of this forest in the next 5 years is critical, and making this investment decision will substantially improve the quality of the forest. With your help, Frontier’s reforestation and silviculture master plan will transform the land into a much healthier ecosystem.
Frontier is seeking to demonstrate that a sustainable forestry venture can work differently, by experimenting with circular economy models, and forest management solutions. This is a new working model for forestry, we like to think of as ‘Forestry 2.0’ - innovating our way to a sustainable future.
